School District Revamps Security Protocols

SKOWHEGAN - School districts across Maine are instituting new security measures in the wake of the Sandy Hook tragedy.

SAD 54, centered in Skowhegan, will now have locked doors and a buzzer system with cameras.

In addition, staff members will wear photo IDs and parents must sign in and get a visitor's pass.

The 12-point safety and security plan will first need approval by the school board.
