Newport - Residents in the eight-town Regional School Unit 19 school district will probably see a vote in March on a final loan attempt.
The district had a three-point-six-million-dollar shortfall this year for reasons including not billing towns for their obligations. Voters have rejected two previous loan requests. This time around requires the district's assets to be sold to pay down the loan. Superintendent Greg Potter says they'll ask for two-point-eight million.
