Class Action Suit Hits LePage Administration Over Care For Mentally Impaired

A class action lawsuit accuses the LePage administration of not providing group-home care and other services to more than 150 mentally impaired adults.

The suit is aimed at requiring the state to provide services for 176 Mainers on a waiting list for placement in group homes and other services.

An attorney for the parents, famlilies, and guardians of the people on the waiting list says Medicaid requires the state to provide services for more than 29-hundred Mainers, but the program currently serves just over 28-hundred.
