Two American Firms To Be Considered For Portland-Nova Scotia Ferry

Halifax, Nova Scotia - Two American companies will try to convince the Canadian province of Nova Scotia they can make a sustained effort to run a Portland to Yarmouth ferry service. 
Quest Navigation of Maine and Maritime Applied Physics of Baltimore were the only two companies to apply to run a ferry service between the U.S. and Canadian ports.  There's been no ferry service between Maine and Nova Scotia since 2009, but the Canadian province is convinced that bringing back the service will help boost tourism.  Nova Scotia will contribute 21-million dollars to the ferry effort if one of the bidders shows it can run such a service for seven years.
