LePage Declaration Keeps Fuel Trucks On Road

Augusta - Governor Paul LePage has declared a limited emergency so fuel trucks can keep delivering heating oil during the brutally cold weather.
The declaration means drivers can be on the road for longer than federal rules permit.  LePage says he made the declaration after heating-oil companies complained that they couldn't keep up with increased demand for fuel deliveries as temperatures stay below freezing.  The emergency declaration waives U.S. Department of Transporation limits on fuel transport and delivery drivers in Maine for seven days.
