Bangor - Hungry Eastern Mainers will be getting some extra help this winter, thanks to area businesses who have teamed up for a food drive.
For the fourth year, Hollywood Casino is hosting the Pantry Project, a food gathering program organized by the United Way of Eastern Maine aimed at collecting thousands of pounds of food to stock pantries around the state.
Non-perishable items will go to Maine families in need. Recent numbers show a large percentage of households suffering from food insecurity. Last year more than 20 companies participated in the drive. If you or your business would like to help, call 941-2800.
