Bangor - The bitter cold temperatures affecting our area recently have many of us cranking up the heaters in our cars and homes, but what we may forget is that some don't have that luxury.
While winter weather doesn't create homelessness, those with no place to live are the most at-risk for the adverse effects of the cold. Though the Bangor-area Homeless Shelter is full year-round, Executive Director Dennis Marble says they add extra cots during the winter to accommodate the increased need. Anyone who can help is encouraged to donate belts, backpacks, and new underwear in the original packaging.
