Big Brothers Big Sisters of Midcoast Maine Founder Shares Appalachian Trail Stories

Rockland - At a staff meeting last week, former Big Brothers Big Sisters of Midcoast Maine founder Bill Michaud shared tales of bears, snakes, and other wildlife he encountered while on his Appalachian Trail hike.
"Backtrack", as he was known along the trip, began his 2,186 mile trek on March 19th, 2012 at Springer Mountain, Georgia. Bill was joined by thirteen other hikers to form "The Sunshine Gang". On October 13th, 2012 Bill completed the journey at the summitt of Mount Katahdin in his home state. Along the way, he raised approximately $5,000 to benefit Big Brother Big Sisters of Midcoast Maine.
