State Senator's Bill Would Let Teachers Carry Guns

Augusta - A state senator from Washington County is sponsoring a bill that would allow teachers to carry concealed weapons at school.
Republican David Burns says his bill would let any educator carry a concealed weapon into a school if the person completed a firearms training course, got certification and underwent a psychological examination.  The educator would also need approval by the local school board, superintendent and school principal.  Burns is proposing the bill in response to the deadly shootings at Sandy Hook Elementary School last month in Newtown, Connecticut.
