Bangor - 100 children from Boys and Birls Clubs around the state received new shoes from a store in the Bangor Mall...with hopes of educating them on Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.
Payless ShoeSource distributed merchandise certificates to kids from the MicMac, Maliseet, Sipayik, and Passamaquoddy Boys and Girls Clubs...where each child had $20 to pick out a pair of shoes of their choice. In honor of today's federal holiday, children were asked to fill out a card based on what they would like to see changed in their community.
Along with a new pair of shoes, each Boys and Girls Club member received a backpack full of healthy snacks from Thirty-One Gifts with support from the Today Show Toy Drive.
