Department of Marine Resources Looking to Help Maine Lobstermen

Bucksport - Lobster fishermen all along the coast of Maine are worried about the same thing...the future of the industry.  Now, meetings are being held to discuss ways to keep it alive and well.
Officials from the Department of Marine Resources met with lobstermen in Bucksport today to answer questions about potential changes in the industry.  Among the proposals, the commissioner has a plan to bring a bill to the legislature next month.

Commissioner Pat Keliher, though, says it's not nearly enough to cover the cost of licensing fees... but it's his hope that having these meetings will show  lobstermen their support for the marketing is appreciated.

This was the sixth of 16 meetings scheduled along the Maine coast.
