Waterfront Concerts Bring $30-Million To Bangor

BANGOR -  Bangor's Waterfront Concert Series is worth millions to the city, according to a University of Maine study.
UMaine economist Todd Gabe reported to the Bangor City Council last night that the concerts have generated more than 30-million dollars for the city's economy since the series debuted in the summer of 2010.

Gabe's study found that more than 200-thousand people attending the summertime concerts have spent 18-point-six-million dollars, leading to indirect spending of about eleven-point-eight million.

Gabe told the council that since the first summer, the number of concerts and acts has grown and people are coming from farther away to attend, and spend.
