Two Maine Fire Departments Receive $58,000

EDDINGTON - $58,000 worth of Federal grants have been awarded to two Maine fire departments.

Eddington Fire is receiving over $34,000 through the Federal Emergency Management Agency's Assistance to Firefighter Grant Program.

This will allow them to replace their twenty year-old air supply refill system.

Eddington Fire has been fortunate enough to receive this grant every year since 2009.

"It has allowed us to do multiple things. Everything from radios to S.C.B.A’s, and now this fill station. It helps increase safety and provides a better service to the citizens,” say Lt. Craig Russell of the Eddington Fire Department.

Eddington is also now accepting applications for firefighters and E.M.T’s.

The other recipient of the grant is Denmark Fire Department.
