Women Help Rehabilitate Habitat House

BANGOR - A local family will soon be moving into a new home, as a Habitat for Humanity house is almost finished being rehabilitated. Several female volunteers were on hand today, putting in their hard work, as part of National Women Build Week.

A group of volunteers worked to finish rehabilitating this 5th Street home Saturday, preparing to welcome a new family to the neighborhood.

Despite the steady drizzle, a large percentage of women turned out to help. Habitat for Humanity once again celebrated National Women Build Week, receiving a $5,000 gift card from Lowe's.

Lowe's Heroes employee volunteers joined the women in the effort, lending a hand painting shutters, and digging holes to put up a new fence.

The house will be handed over to the family receiving it, on May 31st.
