BREWER - Despite the looming forecast for Saturday, the 10th annual stream side cleanup in Brewer is still on.
Over 200 volunteers have already signed up to help protect Brewer's water resources, but they're looking for more.
Groups will leave the Brewer Auditorium after a coffee and doughnut social, heading to some of the area's watersheds.organizers say the amount of trash they pick up is pretty consistent.
"We collect anywhere from three to four tons every year," Kenneth Locke, Director of Environmental Services in Brewer, says. "Half of that gets burnt, the other half we recycle."
Those interested in joining should arrive at the auditorium by 8:00 a.m. to sign up.
Cleanup will go until noon followed by a catered lunch.
