BANGOR - Meanwhile Senator Susan Collins was in the area discussing another women's rights issue... freeing the nearly 300 Nigerian school girls that were recently kidnapped.
She was one of the 20 U.S. women senators urging President Obama to take stronger action towards their rescue.
Collins organized the letter signing, which requests the President ask the United Nations to classify the Islamic Boko Haram as a terrorist group, and take steps to impose sanctions against it.
She said she believes Nigeria cannot find the kidnapped girls alone and that there is no better country for the job than the United States.
Collins hopes the President will see it as feasible and send special forces to Nigeria.
