It happened around 4 p.m.

Brewer Police say when they arrived; the woman already swam to shore.

Police mentioned the woman intended to hurt herself.

“The girl was standing on the opposite side of the rail, hanging onto the rail, and just as I drove by I looked into the mirror again and there was a sheriff vehicle. It stopped, and just as he stopped she disappeared off the bridge,” says Donnie Ellis, a witness to the event.

Brewer Police say the woman was cold, and not injured.
