A new study of America's sexual health finds Maine in sixth-place nationally based on such measures as wellness, human rights and sexual expression.
The new study from New Hampshire researcher Martin Downs shows that Maine leads the nation in areas such as state laws related to abortion, sex education and a lack of discrimination based on sexual orientation. The state's worst ranking, 38th, came in the area of HIV testing, with a low percentage of those age 18-64 saying they've never taken one. New England did very well on the study, with Vermont first, Connecticut second and New Hampshire third.
Nicole may be a Boston native…but she’s been proud to call Maine her home since June of 2010. Currently a morning news anchor, reporter, and producer, Nicole is living her dream in journalism, that she began at Emerson College. Before coming to ABC7/Fox Bangor
Nicole worked at the news desk at WHDH Channel 7 and in Special Projects at Fox25. She also spent time working for the Radio, Television, and Digital News Association, as a member of their digital media content staff. When she’s not on the air or working on stories, you can find Nicole coaching at CrossFit Bangor, or teaching dance to kids at Morita’s School of Dance in Hermon. Even though she’s up early to bring you the news starting at 6:30 am, Nicole is still a bit of a night owl, so you may even catch her out on the town.
