DOVER-FOXCROFT - Authorities have identified the victim injured in Tuesday's shooting incident in Piscataquis County.
The Dover-Foxcroft Police Department released today that 48-year-old Reginald Melvin of Dexter was the man wounded in the Lancaster Avenue altercation.
Police were called to the residence around 6 a.m., for the report of a fight. Melvin allegedly came onto the property and the two homeowners there fired three shots at him with a 22-caliber rifle.
Melvin was taken by Lifeflight to Eastern Maine Medical Center, and the homeowners were treated at mayo regional hospital for superficial wounds.
Authorities say the three knew each other previously. The investigation is still ongoing, as police believe this confrontation is tied to a past incident.
