Job Seekers Attend EPIC Maine to Explore Future Options

BANGOR - Young adults got some help with career and job exploration at Eastern Maine Community College.

Over a hundred students and job seekers attended EPIC Maine which stands for exploring pathways to industries and careers.

The day started with speeches from a few Maine leaders about how they got to where they are today.

After speeches those in attendance filed through the hallways of various buildings on campus getting hands on experience from professionals that actually do the jobs their interested in.

“I want them to understand their job and career goal is possible, it's absolutely possible, they can do what they really want to do. Follow their dream and tell the truth to themselves," said Executive Director of the Tri-County Workforce Investment Board, Joanna Russell.

This is the first EPIC Maine held with organizers hoping to spread into northern Maine in the future.
