CARMEL - A truck driver escaped injury when a tractor trailer truck went off the interstate in Carmel.
State police say 49-year-old Scott Rand of Sherman Mills was hauling a load of potatoes when he went off the highway and struck a number of trees.
Rand wasn't hurt, but the rig sustained an estimated $15,000 in damage.
Another truck was brought in today to help offload all the potatoes so the rig could be removed.
It's unclear what caused Rand to go off the road, but he was cited for a log book violation.
