AUGUSTA - There's a phone scam warning from the Maine Attorney General's office. Scammers are calling Mainers, claiming to be from the Bureau of Motor Vehicles.
They demand an immediate payment over the phone and say if folks don't pay, they'll be arrested or have their license suspended.
Attorney General Janet Mills says if you receive one of these calls -- hang up.
If you have questions, call the Bureau of Motor Vehicles. Remember to never give out personal information over the phone.
