HANCOCK - A Birch Harbor man is in the hospital tonight with serious injuries after he lost control of his motorcycle on Route 1 in Hancock.
Officials say Roger Chipman, 59, was traveling north on his 2007 Suzuki when he lost control on a corner.
The motorcycle crashed into a guardrail and ejected Chipman over an embankment.
He was transported to Maine Coast Memorial Hospital in Ellsworth where he was then taken by LifeFlight to Eastern Maine Medical Center.
Officials say speed and alcohol do not appear to be contributing factors at this time.
