Manslaughter Charges Filed Against Bucksport Teenager

BUCKSPORT - A 16 year-old Bucksport student faces manslaughter and aggravated driving to endanger charges, tonight, for her involvement in a deadly car accident in Bucksport last year.

Taylor Darveau was killed after the vehicle she was a passenger in, struck a tree.

Hancock and Washington County District Attorney Carletta Bassano says, she spoke with the Bucksport Police Department Wednesday afternoon to issue two summonses to an involved teenager.

Police say the 16 year-old was the alleged driver when the car she reportedly struck a tree, killing Darveau, on Bucksmills road in October of last year.

Yesterday Taylor’s parents -- Corey and Christina -- told us they met with the District Attorney to discuss their daughter's case.

The D.A.’S office tells Abc-7 and Fox 22 that the case will be handled through the Juvenile Corrections System and the driver is scheduled to face a judge on May 9th.
