Raymond Crash Leaves Mother and Infant with Serious Injuries

Raymond - A two-vehicle crash yesterday in Raymond left a young woman and her 6 month old baby seriously injured.

It happened just after 7:15 pm at the intersection of North Raymond and Ledgehill Roads. 19 year old Chynna Blaney was driving a 1999 Toyota Corolla with her 6 month old son strapped into a carseat in the back, when she ran a stop sign. She was hit by 35 year old Angie Horler of New Gloucester, who was driving a 2003 Ford F-150 truck, with two young children inside. The collision ejected the 6-month infant, who landed in the soft snow of the wooded area approximately 25 feet from the resting point of the vehicle. He was taken to Maine Medical Center, along with his mother, with serious injuries. Horler was transported to mercy hospital for minor injury/complaint of pain. Her two young children, ages 2 and 5 sustained no injury and were released from the scene. The crash is being reconstructed by the Cumberland County Reconstruction Unit; the matter remains under investigation. This area of North Raymond Road will remain closed until the units are completed with their investigation.
