Grand Jury Indicts Bangor Man for Infant Son's Death
Authorities have arrested, and Penobscot County grand jurors have indicted, a Bangor man -- accused of killing his 3-month-old son.
Dustin Brown, 18, is charged with manslaughter.
Bangor Police Lt. Tim Reid says emergency responders found Xander Brown unconscious, and not breathing, at his parent's Thatcher Street home, on the Sunday after Thanksgiving.
Paramedics transported the infant to Eastern Maine Medical Center, where he died.
The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner peformed a prompt autopsy, and determined the baby's cause of death to be "inflicted trauma."
Investigators are tight-lipped about the circumstances surrounding Xander's death, but do say the 3-month-old had serious head injuries.
Reid says interviews with several first-hand witnesses led detectives to pick Dustin Brown up, Wednesday.
Brown's arraignment is scheduled for Thursday in Bangor.
