Attorney Joe Baldacci submitted closing arguments for his client 50 year-old Roxanne Jeskey.
Jeskey faces intentional and knowing murder, and depraved indifference murder for the alleged brutal killing of her husband, 53 year-old Richard Jeskey, on the night of June 12, 2011.
According to court documents, Baldacci claims that there is sufficient evidence that Jeskey is not criminally responsible by reason of insanity.
On that basis he says the court can come to a different conclusion.
“The Judge can also find manslaughter, the Judge could acquit her on all the charges based on an abnormal mental condition, or the Judge could commit her to a mental health hospital indefinitely based on insanity,” Baldacci says.
The Attorney General's Office is scheduled to reply a week from today.
Justice Allen Hunter is expected to deliver a verdict in March or April.
