Bangor Bomb Squad Responds to Local Apartment
BANGOR - Authorities are now saying that an explosives threat that had them up and arms was not what they initially thought it may have been.
Bangor Police responded to the Kenduskeag Terraces on Court Street at around noon on Saturday to investigate a mental health issue. However, upon arrival officers became weary of what they suspected to be potential explosives.
The department's bomb squad was called to the scene, removed the items from the home, and destroyed them.
Authorities say the items collected can sometimes be used to make a home made bomb but, that after further investigation, that was not the tenants intent.
At this time no charges have been filed.
