Former Volunteer Firefighter Charged With Arson

CORINTH - In early June 2013 the Penobscot County Sheriff’s Office responded to the report of a motor vehicle fire in a gravel pit in the Town of Corinth.

Investigators from both the Penobscot County Sheriff’s Office and State Fire Marshals determined that the fire was intentionally set and started by James Mitchell (19) of Stetson.  Mitchell was indicted by the Penobscot County Grand Jury, charging him with arson, aggravated criminal mischief and failure to report a fire.
