BINGHAM - A bank in Bingham was held up Tuesday, the second bank robbery in the town in less than three weeks.
This time it was the Skowhegan Savings Bank on on Main Street that was hit just before 1:30 p.m.
Authorities say a man wearing a ski mask and armed with a hammer demanded money and then fled on foot.
On January 17, the Camden National Bank was robbed just down the road.
In that case a man armed with a hammer was also the robber.
Police spent the afternoon doing interviews and searching for the man.
Along with a black ski mask, they say he also had on dark clothing and was also carrying some sort of a bag.
Anyone with information on either robbery is urged to contact the Somerset County Sheriffs Department.
