Chair Sale Aims to Benefit Senior Home Programs

BREWER - A local senior home is selling off pieces of furniture to raise money for affordable elderly housing.

The Ellen M. Leach Memorial Home, an independent living complex for senior citizens in Brewer, recently purchased new chairs for their dining hall.

Now, they are looking to sell dozens of old chairs that are no longer needed to support the on-going free programs available to its residents.

They are also looking for donors to sponsor each new chair with a brass plate, which can memorialize loved ones, former residents, or even businesses.

If you're interested in contributing, you can contact them at 989-8246 or visit their website.
