BANGOR - It's official. Chief Deputy Troy Morton has announced he's running to become the next sheriff of Penobscot County.
This, after Sheriff Glenn Ross announced his plans to retire by year's end.
With 25 years of criminal justice experience, Chief Deputy Morton says he's looking forward to serving as sheriff to continue his dedication to the community.
Chief Deputy Morton began his career at the sheriff’s office in 1988, employed in the corrections division. He was appointed Chief Deputy in 2003.
