UMaine Students Dive through Final Exam

Media

ORONO - Many college students are now going over notes and books, cramming for their final exams, but one class of University of Maine students hit the pool for their test. Our Erin Thomas reports.

UMaine Marine Science students have spent all semester at the Darling Marine Center in Walpole. But Friday, they completed their last diving class at the University's Wallace Pool.

Those who successfully complete the course are certified scientific divers, who can conduct underwater research.

And a big aspect of this class is safety... knowing what to do if something goes wrong with a fellow diver.

Finishing up semester of training that will prepare them for jobs after graduation.
