BREWER - Maximizing cash flow was the topic of a training workshop in Brewer Tuesday for small business owners.
Over a dozen local entrepreneurs turned out to receive free advice from experts at Machias Savings Bank.
City officials say it's important to offer workshops like this from time to time to keep local businesses thriving.
"The small business owners are pulled in so many directions," says Jeff Dalrymple, Vice President of business banking. "They've got to take the time to manage their cash flow and understand their finances and really focus on what's important."
"It's just about connecting people and other small business owners," says Nicole Grogan, Economic Development Specialist for the city of Brewer. "If other businesses are having issues, then maybe they can learn from each other."
Gogan says small businesses are critical to sustaining the local economy, and that's why the city's economic development office is already planning more programs like this for the future.
