STATE NEWS - It's one of the most heinous crimes that can be committed, yet can go without punishment. Now an organization here in Maine hopes to change that.
The sexual abuse of a child can go unreported for a number of reasons.
Now the Maine Coalition Against Sexual Assault (MECASA) has launched a campaign that hopes to encourage victims to come forward.
It's called Stand Up, Step Forward.
The hope is to encourage children to speak out, and lets people know how to handle such a situation.
If you ever need any help you should call 1-800-871-7741. You can also visit www.MECASA.org.
The new PSA can be seen here.
