Two counties in Maine were the targets of illegal tippers this weekend, looking to make some money off the holiday business.
According to Maine Forest Rangers, two individuals were charged Friday afternoon in Steuben, for stealing over 400 pounds of evergreen tips used to make wreaths and garland.
On Sunday, four others were charged with the same offense in Whiting.
Rangers seized over 1,400 pounds in that case, an amount valued at over $500.
They say one of the individuals facing charges may have a prior conviction of stealing tips.
All of them are being charged with "Theft of Evergreen Bows," which is a criminal offense. They will appear in court in January.
