BAR HARBOR - Tourist season has come to a close in Bar Harbor.
Many storefronts, hotels, and restaurants closing up shop for the winter.
However, there are still plenty of businesses that are open in this coastal community, and one business owner says the off season could be considered a Maine get-a-way.
"We have museums that are open, restaurants that are open. There's nothing like coming and enjoying a quiet weekend at a bed and breakfast, reading, sitting by the fire, and just having a nice meal at our restaurants," Julie Veilleux, co-owner of Window Panes, says.
Veilleux says it's all about breaking down the misconception that Bar Harbor is closed, when in reality there are plenty of businesses still open for the thousands that live there year round.
