Woman Escapes Serious Injuries in Motorcycle Accident

THOMASTON - A Spruce Head woman escaped serious injury after she lost control of her motorcycle and plummeted down an embankment early Saturday morning in Thomaston.

Melissa Robbins (40) was driving a friend's 2002 Honda Spirit when she lost control, hit a guardrail, and fell 30 feet down the embankment.

Officials say Robbins suffered a compound fracture to her right leg.

She was transported via LifeFlight to Eastern Maine Medical Center.

Staff says she is in fair condition.
