Child Study Center Celebrates Major Milestone

ORONO - A place for children, and adults, to learn at the University of Maine is celebrating a major milestone.

The Child Study Center, which provides preschool education to children of employees, students, and the general public turns 75 this year.

The program offers a developmentally based curriculum focusing on art, language, agriculture, and self-help, as well as an official lab for the UMaine Psychology Department and other academic programs.

The center has taught an estimated 1,100 UMaine students and more than 2,500 preschool students in its history.
