HAMPDEN - A Hermon woman is facing charges after police say she caused a fiery scene in Hampden.
Police say 44 year-old Barbara Willigar was driving a KIA SUV after a night out last week when she became disoriented and drove over a lawn, all before getting stuck in a wooded area.
Spinning the tires in an attempt to get free, the vehicle burst into flames.
Police say Willigar failed a field sobriety test at the scene. She is charged with operating under the influence.
The newly purchased vehicle is now a total loss.
