Roxanne Quimby Buys More Forest Land
MILLINOCKET - Conservationist Roxanne Quimby has bought another eight-thousand acres of Maine wilderness.
The newest purchase is on the border of Baxter State Park along the east branch of the Penobscot River.
This time Quimby is welcoming snowmobilers instead of trying to ban them.
The plan calls for a 14-mile snowmobile trail out of Millinocket that offers spectacular views of Mount Katahdin.

Clay was hired by WVII/WFVX as a morning anchor for FOX BANGOR's 7AM News Hour and as reporter for the 6,10 & 11 o’clock news in July 2011.
He graduated from Indiana University in Bloomington where he received his B.A. in Journalism. Clay has worked at Fox National News in New York, WTIU in Indianapolis and the Big Ten Network.
In his free time, Clay is a firefighter for the Holden Fire/Rescue Department in Holden and is an avid hockey fan.
