Bangor - A Bangor transient who admitted to a summer carjacking that resulted in a high-speed chase will spend seven years in prison.
A Superior Court judge sentenced 31-year-old Brian Swett. He plead guilty to charges of robbery, burglary of a motor vehicle, and eluding police. The Sherriff's Office has had custody of Swett at the Penobscot County Jail since August as he was unable to post bail. Authorities say Swett threatened a woman on Harlow Street, jumped into her vehicle and sped off, leading state troopers on a high-speed chase along Interstate 95.
