Fatal Car Accident Leaves One Dead, Others Injured
A man is dead tonight and others are in critical condition. This comes after an early morning car accident in Old Town, on Main Street near Stillwater Avenue.
Authorities responded to the scene at 4:52 this morning. Upon arrival officers say they found a 2007 dodge caliber had struck a utility pole and rolled over, with driver, 23-year-old Jonathan Worster of Carmel ejected from the vehicle. He was taken to Eastern Maine Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.
A 23-year-old-male from Brewer was found trapped in the vehicle and had to be rescued by old town fire. Authorities say he is in critical condition.
A 24-year-old woman and 21-year-old man, both from Old Town, were also in the accident, and reported to have suffered some injuries.
The crash is currently under investigation and being reconstructed by old town police with the assistance of Maine state police. Authorities do say speed seems to be a factor.
