The man responsible for robbing a Bangor pharmacy, and trying to rob a Brewer pharmacy, was sentenced, this morning, in a Bangor courtroom.
35 year-old John C. Campbell, born in Bangor, Was sentenced to 6 years in prison, with 30 months suspended, after pleading guilty for the September 30th robbery of a Bangor Hannaford pharmacy.
Court documents stated that Campbell presented a pharmacist with a note, which said he had a gun and he wanted oxycodone.
The pharmacist did surrender three bottles of the drug.
One hour later, Campbell attempted to rob a Brewer Rite-Aid.
He was arrested the following week.
In addition to jail time, Campbell will also serve three years of probation.
Campbell acknowledged his severe substance abuse problem in court, and he says he will seek help in prison.
Campbell has two young children.
