BANGOR - Two Maine airports are on track to receive millions in funding from the federal government.
The U.S. Department of Transportation has awarded Bangor International Airport and Princeton Municipal Airport a combined $3 million for improvement projects.
Princeton Municipal will receive a half-million-dollar grant to build a new taxiway.
The rest of the $3 million will go to BIA for the rehabilitation of the runway drainage system, to upgrade airfield lights, and to enclose a drainage canal that attracts wildlife.
Airport officials expect those projects to be completed by the fall.
