Hermon Accident Leaves One Injured

HERMON - A two vehicle crash in Hermon caused injuries and damage earlier tonight. It happened at the Sports Arena on Outer Hammond Street.

Officials say 44-year-old Angela Ervin, of Brewer, was pulling her Dodge Neon out of the parking lot, when Ervin was struck by a Dodge Durango pulling in.

The accident left Ervin complaining of chest pains.

The driver of the Durango, 53-year-old Sandra Mizda, of Glenburn, was not injured.

At this point, the cause appears to be driver inattention.

"She said she was taking a left hand turn into the parking lot and didn't see the other driver (Ervin). It's an inattention type of situation," Patrol Deputy, Jay Hallett, of the Penobscot County Sheriff's Department says.

Ervin was taken to Eastern Maine Medical Center, and is said to have non-life threatening injuries.
