Humane Society Pushes Forward After the Contest Ends

After months of adopting out cats and dogs to good homes for a shot at a grand prize, the results of the ASPCA contest have been announced.

The Bangor Humane Society, which was one of three finalists, was met with some disappointment this afternoon when they learned they had not won the $25,000 Community Engagement award.

But they will still be receiving $7,000 for acheiving their goal...finding homes for over 1,200 pets.

The Humane Society celebrated the 1,209 adoptions in 91 days with cookies, door prizes, and guided tours.
