A recent report shows that more people died in Maine last year, than were born. Something some are worried about since Maine has a low young-adult population.
The report just came out, showing that between July 2011 and July 2012, 12,857 people died, while only 12, 754 were born.
It was the first time in nearly 7 decades more people had died in the Pine Tree State than were born.
Maine and West Virgina were the only 2 states to experience more deaths than births. This is also a cause for concern to city councilor Ben Sprague who says plenty of young-adults leave the Pine Tree State and having a decreasing young population is not good for education or the economy.
