Police Auction Abandoned Bicycles

BANGOR - If you were in the need for a new bike this spring, perhaps you found one at the Bangor Police Department's annual auction today.

55 bicycles that were abandoned over the past year, of varying sizes and models, were up for bid at the Bangor Parks and Recreation department building this morning. Prices ranged from $3 up to $200.

All money raised from that auction goes toward the Police Athletic League, which aims to get kids out of trouble and into sports. In year's past the auction has raised up to $2,500 for the program.
