Letter Carriers to Collect Food Nationwide

HAMPDEN - Tomorrow, letter carriers around the country will be collecting non-perishables for the annual "Stamp Out Hunger" food drive.

The U.S. Postal Service is joining with the National Association of Letter Carriers, Harvesters Community Food Network, Price Chopper, and Campbell's Soup for the food drive across America.

Now in it's 21st year, it is the largest single-day food drive in the nation, collecting over 1.2 billion pounds of food to date.

Residents interested in donating non-perishables should place items in a sturdy bag at their mailbox for pickup by their letter carrier on Saturday.
